Prepare your next portfolio review with evidence your team can act on

Your fund already collects impact data. We organise it before your review and show where the evidence is solid and where it is thin. We also record how much staff time the work takes.

What you receive

A portfolio review pack for the companies and records we agree with you. It uses the measures and reports your fund already holds.

For each company, the pack shows how its results relate to the goals set for it. It marks which figures have clear supporting evidence and which need checking. It separates results that compare across companies from results that stand alone. It ends with the questions and next steps we recommend for the meeting.

You keep the definitions, the named owner of each measure and the map from every figure to its source. You can reuse them at your next review.

How we measure staff time

Gathering and reconciling reports takes staff time. Before we start, we agree which tasks to count and ask how long your last review took. We log this review's hours against the same tasks. We label the earlier figure an estimate. We promise no saving before we measure it.

How it works

  1. 1 · Set the review and the decisionWe agree which review the pack supports, the decision your team must make, the reporting period and the delivery date. We sign a data-handling note before any document changes hands.
  2. 2 · Review what you holdWe read the reports, definitions and records for every company in the agreed portfolio. We trace the headline figures we agree with you to their sources.
  3. 3 · Follow up where it mattersWe ask the people behind a figure when its meaning is unclear. We ask for new information only when it could change what the evidence shows or what your team decides.
  4. 4 · Deliver the packYou receive the pack, and we walk your team through it in a working session.

Who it suits

Impact funds with a portfolio review coming up and a decision their current reports do not settle. Funds that signed the Impact Principles have committed under Principle 6 to monitor each investment against impact expectations and respond appropriately. The pack supports that review. It does not certify compliance.

The first call covers when the review is, which decision your team must make, and how long the last review took to prepare.

What we do not do

We do not advise on any investment. We give no assurance or certification. We do not merge different companies into one score. A review of existing records cannot show that your investments caused an outcome, and the pack says so. We start from the measures you already use. Free standards already list indicators.

Who leads the work

Dr Shorful Islam, our Chairman and Director, wrote Data Culture (Kogan Page, 2024), shortlisted for the Business Book Awards 2025. He has led data teams at Wunderman, adam&eve/DDB and ITV. He helps your team own and use its measures.

Rashed Mamun, our Founder, has worked in international development since 2015. He ties the evidence to your fund's goals and to the standards your investors expect.

Independence and your data

We work for the fund and report what the evidence shows, including findings that do not support its case. Before any engagement we disclose our founders' other companies in writing. We agree how data is handled and deleted before you share it. Full policy

Timing and fee

We agree the delivery date with your fund so the pack is ready for the review. The fixed fee reflects the number of companies and records, their formats, and the level of source checking.
